This exquisitely elegant carnelian and micro mosaic Victorian choker necklace is set in 14k yellow gold. It dates from the 1800s. The oval crimson colored carnelian is beautifully faceted and presented in a criss cross patterned textured gold frame. In between each carnelian piece are 2 oval micro mosaic sensational masterpieces. Rich with vibrant color and intricate craftsmanship, the 2 pieces depict what looks like old ruins. Each micro mosaic is bordered with red enamel (there is slight enamel loss on both of those pieces) and housed in a gold beaded frame. The detail in this masterpiece is intricate and truly a work of art. All connected with a 3 strand oval link chain for the utmost in drama. Spectacular sophistication infused with grandeur. The necklace measrues 19" long. The pieces in the necklace measure 1" x 3/4" and 3/4" x 1/2".
